KNX
Worldwide standard for control systems of homes and buildings in bus technology, resulting from the convergence of BatiBUS, EHS and EIB. KNX is a registered trademark by KNX Association cvba, Brussels
KNX actuator
KNX output device (analogic or digital) for switching and/or controlling a load (terminal device). It receives a telegram from the bus, process it and translate it into an action
KNX apps
Software applications developed by KNX members with the provided API, validated by KNX Association and available at the KNX online shop
KNX Association
Association resulting from the convergence process formed by BCI (BatiBUS Club International), EHSA (European Home Systems Association) and EIBA (European Installation Bus Association). The original name was Konnex Association, at the beginning of 2007 it was renamed as "KNX Association"
KNX bus device
KNX bus device consisting of a bus coupler, an application module (terminal device) and an application program for ETS
KNX journal
Bi-annual and bilingual (English/German) international magazine for home and building control based on KNX technology. It can be received free of charge by members, partners and media representatives.
KNX mark
Trademark based on conformity tests carried out by KNX Association accredited test labs during the certification procedure (see also certification)
KNX Partner
Planners, installers, system integrators and other interested parties who have specialized in the KNX technology, by attending a course (and passing the final exam) at a KNX-certified Training Center
KNX power supply unit
KNX device that provides the SELV power supply necessary to the functioning of a bus line
KNX sensor
Device of the KNX system that measures physical quantities and converts them into electrical values. The information generated by a KNX sensor can be directly sent on the bus to one or more KNX devices (actuators, displays, etc.)
KNX terminal block
Standardized connection device that allows quick connection of KNX cables with rigid conductors
Konnex
Until 2007 it was the name of the current KNX Association, the association resulting from the process of convergence of BCI, and EHSA EIBA. From the beginning of 2007 renamed "KNX Association"
