Technological penthouse in Milan

Application context

In a modern building in the Bicocca district, opposite the Arcimboldi theatre, stands a fully renovated penthouse apartment of approximately 180 square metres. The dwelling has 6 rooms, plus a large veranda with glazing, an open-air terrace and two perimeter balconies, and is the result of the collaboration between LYMO HOME, which took care of the home automation system, and Costa + Ponti Architetti, which took care of the architectural details.

Customer's requests

The customers were looking for a system that would allow them to integrate and manage all the systems in their homes in a single application, combining the purely ‘technological’ side with the design component of the control panels used.

The public address aspect was also very important for the customers, who were looking for a multi-room audio system that could dialogue with the automation system and provide more advanced functions than a normal public address system.

Ekinex Solutions

To meet these demands, the FF Series was proposed for the innovative design of the wall-mounted controls and the possibility of realising a fully integrated system via the KNX standard. Specifically, the electrical system for lights, roller shutters, mosquito nets, awnings, blinds and appliances, radiant panel heating system, ducted air conditioning system, burglar alarm, video surveillance and a customised KNX weather station were integrated into the home automation system.

The Ekinex system was also chosen for the multi-room sound system with 7 amplifiers from the Sentio line, combined with high quality audio speakers.

To complete the home's technological systems, a Home Cinema audio/video system was created, integrated with the automation system to automatically recreate a ‘cinema’ scenario whenever the projector is activated.

The supervision of the entire home automation system was realised through Delégo, which allowed for advanced and customised management of each function, also automatically integrating the management of the Sentio multi-room sound system. To allow easy management of the system, a Delégo 10’ Touch Panel was installed at the entrance to the house, while in the sleeping area there is a Touch&See panel.
