Limelight Villa

Application Context

Nestled within a wooded setting and carefully integrated into the surrounding mountainous landscape, this single-storey detached house is characterised by a cross-shaped floor plan created by the intersection of two volumes: one extending horizontally and the other more compact, featuring a steeply pitched roof that offers a contemporary interpretation of traditional church architecture. The house blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings, enhancing the relationship between architecture and landscape. At the heart of the design lies a spacious open-plan area combining the living room, dining room and kitchen, whilst the side wings house the private bedrooms and a guest suite. The large openings, featuring concealed sliding systems, allow for a complete integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, reinforcing the sense of continuity with the surrounding nature.

Client’s requirements

The client requested a residence that would be deeply integrated into the natural setting, capable of combining openness to the landscape with the protection of privacy in the most intimate spaces. Particular attention was paid to creating a bespoke design that would enhance the dialogue between architecture and nature through fluid and flexible spaces, as well as through solutions that would eliminate the perceived separation between interior and exterior. In terms of materials, a understated and refined palette was favoured, comprising local stones alongside selected materials such as black volcanic stone, Patagonian stone and woods with warm tones, including walnut, cedar and monkey pod, with the aim of giving the interiors an authentic, welcoming character rooted in the local environment.

The project incorporated the FF Series, a solution with a minimalist and contemporary design that stands out for its simple, linear and harmonious forms. Thanks to its clean and versatile aesthetic, this collection blends seamlessly with the home’s spaces, enhancing its style and architectural balance. The understated lines, combined with attention to detail and the quality of the materials, help to create a refined and welcoming atmosphere, lending the rooms a touch of timeless elegance that will retain its charm over the years.
